Why add Applied History to your program?

Applied History Promotional Pitch to Students in Every Major

In the 2020s, many young people do not feel heard.

There are ways to change that.

Enroll in Applied History, and you will acquire a license to travel freely between the past, the present, and the future. And once time travel becomes a normal feature of your life, you are sure to be heard.

Why?

Because you will use your voice to rescue the people of the past from silence. When you acquire the Applied History Toolkit, you will be equipped to draw lessons from their lives and to share those lessons with the many groups in our society who would not recognize history if it came up and kicked them in the . . . whatever.

You could be majoring in anything under the sun, but you are still licensed to assume the role of translator between the people of the past and the people of the future.  If you are a history major, all the better.  But the methods, strategies, and techniques of Applied History cross every disciplinary boundary. In truth, the future careers of engineering majors and business majors are likely to put a particular premium on the capacity to recognize the way that features of the past keeps showing up and playing around with the present.

Historical amnesia is a nationwide affliction, and fatalistic people think it is beyond cure, BUT in the unforeseeable future, a group of CU Students might work together and come up with an effective remedy for this amnesia, THEREFORE Applied History is an experiment worth trying.
